Our Story

FROM VILLANUEVA TO STOCKTON

Tropical Crunch started as a food trailer in 2025, but our story begins much earlier in Villanueva, Honduras, where we learned that good food is made with time, family recipes, and love. Today we bring that same flavor to the streets of Stockton.

Our Roots

IT ALL STARTED IN THE LAND
OF 5 STARS: Honduras

We are from Villanueva, Honduras, and like many Catrachos far from home, we missed the flavors of our land. In 2025 we opened our trailer with a simple idea: our people should not have to drive long distances to taste the food they grew up with. What started as a dream is now the place where the Honduran community of Stockton feels at home.

Why We Do It

A PLACE TO FEEL AT HOME

We did not open Tropical Crunch just to sell food. We opened it to give our people a place to share with family and friends, where a baleada tastes just like it does back home and where every dish brings back a memory of Honduras. Our greatest pride is something we live every day: seeing the face of a customer who gets to taste their food from home again after a long time away.

From Our Land

HOME RECIPES, MADE WITH LOVE

Recipes Passed Down Through Generations

Our recipes come from our land - from the family kitchen, learned by watching and passed down from generation to generation. There are no shortcuts or complicated secrets: what makes us different is the love we put into what we do. Of everything on the menu, two dishes hold a special place: the baleada and the pollo con tajadas, two Catracho classics made the way they should be.

Honduran Cuisine:
MORE THAN A BALEADA

When people think of Honduran food, they almost always think of the baleada - and the baleada is incredible. But Catracho cuisine is so much more: pollo con tajadas, carne asada con tajadas, pastelitos, Honduran tacos, zambos preparados... a whole menu of distinct flavors that bring our history, our community, and our roots to life. We want Stockton to discover a world of flavors that very few people know.

Looking Ahead

WE DREAM BIG

Today we are a trailer, but we dream big. Our goal is to open our own restaurant, keep growing, and bring the traditional dishes of Honduras to more and more people. Every order we serve brings us a little closer to that dream.
